Son on the Run, after Stabbing Father to Death in St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: A man who stabbed his father to death,  after stealing a large sum of money from his older brother at their home in Green Pond,  St James on Thursday night,  September 6, is now being sought by the St James police.

The accused,  Akeem Thorpe, 27-year-old unemployed of Green Pond, is now being sought for the stabbing death of his father, 59-year-old Clifton Thorpe.

Mr. Stephen Murray, the grandfather of the accused man,  was the only person at the house when our news team visited the community,

He clearly stated that his grandson is a constant troublemaker.

House Breaker Stabbed to Death in Portmore

The police reported that about 7:45 p.m. on Thursday night, an argument developed at the family house in Green Pond, between the father and his son,  who reportedly broke into his elder brother’s room who is a resort chef and stole cash amounting to US$7000.

The father and two other sons attempted to hold Akeem in order to carry out a search of his person, when he pulled a ratchet knife and stabbed his father in the regions of his heart. He then jumped over a fence and ran from the yard.

The St James police say they are now asking Akeem Thorpe to turn himself over to the nearest police station immediately.

They also stated that, they are asking members of the public with information which could lead to Akeem’s whereabouts, or to his arrest, to immediately contact Police Control at 119 or the nearest police station.
