Son of Incarcerated Gangster Caught with High-powered Rifle, Remanded into Custody

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The 16-year-old, son of a reputed gang leader, who appeared in the Gun Court on Thursday, October 4, to answer to charges of illegal possession of firearm, was remanded into custody.

The accused teenager who was caught in possession of an  AK-47 assault rifle in land Lease, Kingston 11, on Monday afternoon, September 24, was ordered to return to court next Tuesday, October 9,

The police reported that about 6:00 p.m. on Monday, a team of officers carried out an operation at a section of Land Lease, in the Papine area, known as Marie Drive.

During the operation, the teenage boy was seen acting in a suspicious manner, he was subsequently accosted and searched.

He was discovered to be in possession of the AK-47  assault rifle.

The teenager was immediately taken into custody.

His Attorney, Peter Champagnie says he will be applying for bail on his next appearance.
