Dancehall artiste, Skillibeng invites us to ‘a day with EastSyde’ in his new single Vengeance Ways that debuted yesterday (August 10), on his SkillibengOfficial YouTube page.
The track features Quenga, another young Dancehall talent on the up and up. The two have worked together erstwhile on tracks like X10 Badness and Bimma Place that dropped earlier this year in March.
Vengeance Ways hit streaming with a new music video giving us takes of what it would be like to spend a day with Skilli and his peeps. Well, you’ll find that includes lots of girls, money tossing, weed smoking, Hennessy drinking and just pure badness.
As the EastSyde artiste rips his usual uninterrupted flow of lyrics, he reveals just how threatening he can be. As the title of the track preludes, Skillibeng says payback is a must, dropping warnings like, “Mi entertain ‘vengeance ways’ / mi evil and never fraid / dis di EastSyde you cant get away, you haffi dead and grave. Crime we name, EastSyde never fraid fi rise the K.”
Quenga’s verses chime in backing his lead, talking about ‘generating the crime rate’. “If dem pressure we brain, we ah pressure K. 10 rifle, nutt’n if ah 10 a day / kill boy lef gal in a mi bed a stay,” he sings.
The Magical Studio music video captures what appears to be a party at Skilli’s crib. The ladies are in the pool putting on a seductive exhibition as the guys lime about, puffing heavy clouds of smoke in the air and knocking back a non-stop flow of drinks. When dusk falls, they’re mostly inside playing domino but like any gangster’s lifestyle, there are several things happening behind closed doors while everyone else is at play. A drop is being made, then soon enough the cars roll out – Watch more below.
Skillibeng and Quenga’s new single, Vengeance Ways was produced by Track One Records in part with EastSyde Records.
