The Clarendon police have confirmed that the 24-year-old, woman who was severely chopped and burnt by her common-law husband, in Mocho, Clarendon, succumbed to her injuries at hospital on the weekend.
The deceased has been identified as Rosales Campbell, who hailed from Stewarton Gully also in Mocho.
Her brother 14-year-old Leroy Hamilton, student who attended the Central High School was burnt to death and their 53-year-old mother was also severely chopped by the accused, who has been identified as 42-year-old Kayon Lawrence of the said address.
Lawrence later took his own life by hanging himself, shortly after setting the house on fire.
Reports by the police are that on Wednesday morning, of October 31. Campbell got involved in a domestic dispute with Lawrence at their home in Stewarton Gully, Mocho.
During the dispute, Lawrence armed himself with a machete and chopped Campbell multiple times to her upper body.
He then attacked her 53-year-old mother and also chopped her severely. The deranged man then set the house on fire while 14-year-old Leroy Hamilton lay asleep in his bed.
He then ran from the house and escaped in the area. Residents in the community discovered the house on fire and raised an alarm, after rushing to the house they managed to rescue Campbell and her wounded mother from the blaze.
The section of the house where the student had his room was quickly engulfed into flames and he was burnt to death.
The police and the Fire Department were summoned and upon arrival, the firemen managed to carry out cooling down exercise which led to the charred remains of the 14-year-old boy.
Angry residents then went in search of the accused and later found his body hanging by a piece of rope from a sill of his house.
