Kingston, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Singer Blasts Portia: Singer Tanya Stephens is facing backlash for comments she has made on social media about former Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller.
On a post that has since been deleted, she said “hearing people lament Portia’s departure is like seeing people congratulate my rapist for being a “good man”, she isn’t a good person” She went on to describe the former PM as unqualified, embarrassing and awful, adding that she is happy to see her departure.
A number of politicians including Vice President of the PNP Dr. Angela Brown-Burke and Venesha Phillips, Councillor, has since responded to Tanya’s post.
Mrs. Simpson-Miller resigned yesterday (June 29) as Member of Parliament for St Andrew Western having served as a Politician since 1976.
