Jamaica Crime News, Trelawny: A shopkeeper who was taken into custody by the Falmouth police on Tuesday night, September 18, after he reportedly used a golf club to beat an alleged sex worker to death in Falmouth, Trelawny, has now been officially charged with murder.
The Trelawny police say, Easton Rowe, 30-year -old shopkeeper of 2 Falmouth Street, was slapped with murder charges on Saturday, September 22.
He is booked to appear in the Trelawny Parish Court on Thursday, September 27.
Reports by the Falmouth police are that about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the deceased Candice London Edwards, otherwise called (Chin) who hails from De La Vega City in Spanish Town and another sex worker were doing business along Trelawny Street, and Sea Board Street in Falmouth, when an argument developed between them and another female sex worker.
Rowe intervened and an argument developed between himself and the deceased.
Edwards pulled out a Pepper Spray and sprayed Rowe in the face, causing him to run back to his shop and arm himself with a golf club, which he used to hit Edwards in the regions of her head.
The wounded prostitute suffered a fractured skull and was immediately rushed to the Falmouth Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the accused was taken into custody.
