Shopkeeper Murdered Under State of Public Emergency in St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: Withing a two days period, another man has been shot and killed by gunmen under the State of Public Emergency in the parish of St James.

The latest victim has been identified as,  Zachariah Shirley, 55-year-old Shopkeeper and Janitor of Ducketts Road in Cambridge, St James.

Reports by the Cambridge Police are that about 7:30 p.m. Shirley who operated a small shop on his house,  was at home when gunmen posing as customers,  came into the yard.

One of the men called out to Shirley and ordered an item from the shop.

Shirley went inside the shop to serve the alleged customers when he was shot multiple times.

The police were summoned and upon arrival of the lawmen,  Shirley was discovered inside the shop suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
