Shopkeeper Charged with Illegal Possession of Ammunition in Westmoreland

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The police in Negril, Westmoreland, have reported that one man was arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of several rounds of ammunition on Saturday afternoon.

The accused has been identified as, Troy McIntosh, 31-year-old shopkeeper of Whitehall in West End,  Negril,  Westmoreland.

Reports by the police are that about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, a team of officers went to a shop which McIntosh operates in Whitehall to carry out a search.  Upon seeing the lawmen, approaching McIntosh reportedly ran but he was chased and held.

A search of his person was carried out which led to the seizure of nine live 9mm rounds which were taken from his right front pocket.

McIntosh was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
