St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Men Accused of Shineka Gray’s Murder RemandedMario Morrison and Gregory Roberts, the two men charged with the murder of 15-year-old Green Pond High School student Shineka Gray, was remanded to police custody when they appeared in the St. James Parish Court Thursday morning.

The men, who were arrested following the catastrophic incident, were remanded to custody by Presiding judge Sandria Wong-Small.

During Thursday’s proceedings, the clerk-of-court indicated that the Communication Forensic and Cyber-crime Unit (CFCU) report was still outstanding but would be available to the court today.

Meanwhile, Roberts’ attorney, Shelly-Ann Hyman, said she has been served with additional documents.

On the other hand, Judge Wong-Small wants to ensure that they are not bombarding the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) at the last moment and added that she has to try to manage how those matters are sent.

“I understand we would have to have a mention date in the first two weeks in order to get this matter to Circuit,” Hymans then told the judge.

“If I haven’t even seen the bundle, how is it going to be committed?” the judge asked.

“If they are not in a position to prepare and serve by then, it’s not going to Circuit by September,” the judge added.

The matter was subsequently set for committal hearing on September 19 and both men were ordered remanded.

Gray, who resided in Mt Salem, Montego Bay, was found dead in bushes in the Irwin community in St James on February 1 with multiple stab wounds and other signs of trauma. She went missing three days prior to the incident.

It is reported that she had left home to attend the funeral of another Green Pond High School student, but never returned home.
