Doha 2019 world silver medallist Shanieka Ricketts stretched out to a world-leading and meeting record to win the women’s triple jump effort of 14.63m at the Velocity Fest meet inside the National Stadium on Saturday, March 20.

The 29-year-old, Ricketts took the event with a 14.63m hop, skip and jump on her second attempt, which moved the Jamaican ahead of Cuba’s Leyanis Perez on the World Athletics 2021 Top List for the discipline.

Perez had jump 14.24m to head the list just a week ago at the Estadio Panamericano stadium in Havana, Cuba.

Ricketts was competing against her Ricketts PC training partner St Lucia’s Sandisha Antoine, who ended with a best jump of 13.64m aided by a positive wind reading of 4.1m per second.
