Jamaica News, March 27, 2018 – Sex Offender Caught
St Andrew Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – A St Andrew man who the police say was being sought in charges of having sex with a person under the age of 16, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning, March 27, and an illegal firearm along with several rounds of ammunition taken from him.
The name of the man who is being withheld is reported to be from the Duhaney Park area.
Reports by the Duhaney Park police are that, recently they received reports that the accused has sexually molested a 14-year-old girl in the area. On Tuesday morning about 3:00 a.m., a team of investigators attached to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offenses went to a house located along Baldwin Avenue, which is said to have been occupied by the accused man.
Upon arrival at the premises, the accused was taken into custody. Further search of the house led to the seizure of a Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol, along with two magazines containing a total of 26 live 9mm rounds.
One police source pointed out that, the accused will now be facing a series of investigations in connection to the sexual offense charges and also in connection with the seizure of the illegal weapon.
