Several Roads Closed in Kingston to Facilitate Parliament Opening Ceremony

Jamaica News, Kingston: Members of the public are being advised that in order to facilitate the ceremonial opening of Parliament on Thursday, February 14, several roads in the corporate area will be closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m.

These include,  Duke Street – between Sutton Street and North Street.

Beeston Street – between Kings Street and Hanover Street.

Charles Street – between Hanover Street and Kings Street.

Please note that Mark Lane will operate as a one way lane, South to North between Beeston Street and Charles Street.

Pedestrian traffic will also be restricted in the areas of Gordon House – ( Duke Street, between Beeston Street and Charles Street) until the end of the ceremony.

Parking will also be restricted in the following areas from 7:00a.m.,until the end of the ceremony.

South Heroes Circle, Duke Street, Beeston Street, Mark Lane, John Lane, Church Street, East Street, George Lane and East Queens Street.

Persons who use the JUTC buses are being advised that some routes in downtown Kingston areas may be injested due to road closure.
