Despite the fact that the curfew which as being imposed on Central Village, is expected to be lifted, Wednesday, February 13, the police have reported that they have now taken several men into custody, four of whom are deemed as persons of interest.
One police source told MCKOY’S NEWS that several of the men that were taken into custody over the past six days are believed to be linked to the Zambia and the Big Lane gang.
According to the police source, these men are known gang activists, and the police believes that with them now behind bars, they should be able to stem the recent violent flare up within the community.
The recent gang fuied saw three men been murdered in quick succession, between last Thursday into Saturday night. One of the men is said to be linked to Big Lane gang while the other two victims, one of whom were beheaded, are linked to the Zambia gang.
In the meanwhile, the curfew stretches from Collin Crescent to Rockland, and to Mandella Highway, in the vicinity of the dirt track.
From Mandella Highway to the Ashtrom Construction Company, and from the Ashtrom Construction Company to Collin Crescent.
The police are asking the full cooperation of the residents and making it known that during the hours of the curfew persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises.
