A joint military operation carried out at sections of the Westmorland parish have led to the arrest of more than a dozen men.

Assistant Superintendent of Police and Acting Commanding Chief for the parish of Westmoreland, Carlos Russell told our news team that over the past twelve several operations have been carried out at numerous locations throughout the parish, and these operations have led to the arrest of several men.

” we are not exactly saying that these men are responsible for any of the recent murders, but a number of them are deemed as persons of interest and will be questioned and processed, in connection to the killings and other crimes.”

Assistant Superintendent Russell also stated that the criminals are now being warned that the police will be coming after them, and no stones will be left unturned until those responsible for these murders and recent flare-up are brought to justice.

Between the hours of 1:00 p.m., on Monday, February 25, and 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 26, a total of eight persons were murdered throughout the parish of Westmoreland.

On Monday at approximately 1:00 p.m., 18-year-old Eric Clarke was shot and killed while on a playing field in Cook Street, Savannah la Mar, and hours later at 4:00 p.m., 20-year-old Patrick Campbell, laborer of Georges Plain was gunned down in Alma district in Grange Hill.

The bloodletting continued into the night with a triple murder at a night club in Williamsfield. Those killed were 21-year-old Jahmar Warren otherwise called ‘ Shadow Black’s ” of Grange, 34-year-old Corey Parkins of Cascade in Hanover and 23-year-old Coran Birch, of Woodsville also in Hanover.

The other three victims were gunned down early Tuesday morning. 25-year-old Ajari Romans was shot and killed by gunmen at Cedar Valley Farms, in Bethel Town area about 7:30a.m., another man who is known so far only as ” Chucky” was killed by unknown assailants at Phase 5, on the Llandilo Housing Scheme half hour later, while 19-year-old Renaldo Campbell of Queens Street in Savannah la mar was shot and killed along Lewis Street at 9:00 a.m.,.
