Jamaica News, Montego Bay: Minister of National Security, Dr. Horace Chang, has promised that a number of police stations throughout the Area One Police Division, are slated to be renovated in short order.
The Minister also stated that, they are now viewing the possibility of introducing a maintenance system, which will supervise the upkeep of police departments, throughout the Area One Police Division.
According to Dr. Chang, a system is expected to be put in place in short order where officers themselves and the police high command, can easily monitor police stations and the police fleets, across Area One.
The Minister was speaking during a tour of several police stations throughout the Area One Police Division, on Thursday morning. The tour came about following an announcement by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, that several police stations across Jamaica, were part of renovation programme.
Dr. Chang pointed out that, he cannot give a costing of the project at this time, but he is sure that renovation will be done on various stations.
Dr. Chang along with the Commissioner of Police, Major Antony Anderson, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, at Area One, Senior Superintendent, Donovan Graham and Commanding officer in Charge of St. James, Superintendent Vernon Ellis, toured stations which needed repair in the Area One Division.
