Security Guard Murdered at Popular Teachers College in St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: The Granville Police in Montego Bay, St James have now commenced a probe surrounding the shooting death of a security guard while on duty at a popular teachers college in the parish on Sunday morning, June 10, 2018.

The deceased has been identified as Anthony Phillips, 35-year-old, security guard of a Darliston address in Westmoreland and who is employed to Kings Alarm Security Company.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, Phillips was on guard duty at the Sam Sharpe Teachers College compound in Granville where he was based.

While on duty he was attacked and shot to death by unknown assailants. The police were summoned and upon arrival, the security guard was discovered lying on the outside of the compound with multiple gunshot wounds.

The scene was processed and the victim transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
