The Central Police in Kingston, say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance in identifying the driver of a motor truck, who mowed down a pedal cyclist along a section of South Camp Road in Kingston,  on Thursday,  January 31st.

The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old, Oneil Mitchell, a security guard of Hopeton Street, in Kingston 4.

Reports by the police are that about 10:00 p.m., on Thursday,  Mitchell was riding a bicycle along a section of South Camp road, when he was mowed down by the driver of a motor truck.

The hit and run driver then sped away from the scene,  while residents in the area summoned the police.

Upon the arrival of the lawmen,  the wounded security guard was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
