Jamaica Crime News, St James: A 51-year-old security guard who is employed to a prominent security company in the parish of St James, was taken into custody by the Granville police, after he was caught in possession of an illegal firearm in the Tucker community, on Tuesday morning, January 15.
The identity of the accused is being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the police are that about 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a report was made that a man was seen in possession of an illegal firearm, in Tucker.
The police responded to the report and went to the location, where the security guard was seen.
Following a search, the lawmen seized a 9mm, semi-automatic pistol loaded with several 9mm rounds.
The accused was immediately placed into custody and will subsequently be charged.
