Security Guard Charged for Murder in St James

Jamaica Crime News, St James: A security guard who went on the run after he reportedly stabbed an entertainment promoter to death in Roehampton district, Anchovy, St James on Saturday night, has now been taken into custody and charged with murder.

He has been identified as 23-year-old Aswald Knott, also of Roehampton and he has been charged with the murder of Darian Gray, 25-year-old promoter of Roehampton community.

Reports by the Anchovy police are that about 9:15 p.m., Gray and Knott got involved in a domestic dispute, while they were both at an event being held in the Roehampton community.

During the dispute, Knott used a knife to inflict several stab wounds to Gray’s stomach, before escaping from the scene.

The police were summoned, and upon arrival, Gray was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Knott was taken into custody earlier this week and charged with murder.

He is booked to appear in the St James Parish Court later this week.
