St. James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- SEARCH ON FOR GUNMEN IN ST JAMES: The St. James police are now combing sections of the parish in search of a group of gunmen who engaged members of a police patrol in a heated gunbattle in the Spot Valley area on Friday night.
Luckily none of the officers were seriously injured. Reports by the police are that. Shortly after 9:00 pm on Friday a group of police officer attached to the Barrett Town station were carrying out routine patrols along sections of Spot Valley Community.
On reaching the vicinity of Spot Valley Square they came upon a group of men. Upon seeing the police party approach the gunmen opened fire on the lawmen.
The lawmen returned the fire and a heated gunbattle ensued. During the shooting, the gunmen were seen running in separate directions and made their escape in nearby bushes.
