School Teacher Attacked by Pit-Bulls Critical, Dogs Taken From Owner

The St Andrew police have reported that the St Richards Primary school teacher who was mauled by four-pit bulls, along Woodland Close, in Coopers Hill, St Andrew, last Thursday, is still at the hospital in critical condition.

The police also said the killer dogs have since been taken from their owner.

Reports are that the grade six teacher was walking along a section of Woodland Close, at approximately 5:30p. m, when she was attacked by the dogs.

Several residents who heard the woman crying for help rushed to her assistance but there was very little they could do because of the vicious dogs.

The police were summoned and after several hours the woman was rescued and transported to the hospital where she was admitted in critical condition.

The dogs were later taken from their owner by the police and members of the Jamaica Safety for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
