Washington DC, USA (McKoy’s News) – Scaramucci Removed as White House Communications Director: After less than a week on the job, Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci was removed from his new job at the White House. He assumed his position on July 21.
Scaramucci was escorted out of the White House, according to news reports.
The sudden and unexpected departure is just the latest in a series of stunning staff shakeups in the administration, with new Chief of Staff John Kelly being sworn in on Monday morning, replacing Reince Priebus, who was pushed out last week.
With just six days on the job, Scaramucci is the shortest-serving communications director in White House history.
It was also leaked that Scaramucci had previously bragged that he would report directly to the president rather than the chief of staff.
At a Cabinet meeting earlier in the day, Mr. Trump praised Kelly for a spectacular job done at the Department of Homeland Security and predicted he would be ” one of the great” chiefs of staff in history.
Meanwhile, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated that Sacaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team.
Sanders also confirmed Kelly’s power, one that Priebus didn’t enjoy: “Gen. Kelly has the full authority to operate within the White House and all staff will report to him.”
News has circulated that Sacaramucci also shocked political watchers last week when he unleashed a profane tirade against Priebus in an interview with The New Yorker. A source close to the White House said that at the time that some in Trump’s orbit felt the expletive-filled rant “embarrassing” for the White House.
According to Sanders, the president, who himself has been known for using vulgar language, felt that Scaramucci’s comments were inappropriate for a person in that position.
Scaramucci had a long-standing relationship with Trump before joining the administration, having been involved with Trump’s 2016 campaign, and the transition to the White House.
Scaramucci was viewed as a provocative figure who bumped heads with both Priebus and Sean Spicer, who resigned from his job as press secretary the same day that Scaramucci was chosen to lead the White House communications operation.
The White House said Scaramucci does not currently have any role in the administration, including at the Export-Import Bank, where he had been before moving to the White House staff.
Trump’s White House has been plagued with chaos this summer, facing infighting within the West Wing and legislative failures on Capitol Hill.
But Trump struck back those criticisms Monday, tweeting that there was no White House chaos.
Scaramucci is the second communications director to leave the position. In May, Michael Dubke resigned from the gig, saying that he was leaving for personal reasons.
