Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Salt Spring Shooting: The Freeport police in Montego Bay St James are now carrying out investigations into the shooting death of a man and the shooting and wounding of three other persons along Salt Spring Road in St James on Monday, December 18, 2017.
The deceased has been identified as 19-yr-old Ricky Smith, Security Guard also of Salt Spring Road.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Smith and the other victims were standing along a section of Salt Spring Road known as Big Tree when they were ambushed by a group of men armed with handguns.
The gunmen opened fire on them and they ran but were chased and shot several times. The gunmen then made their escape in the area while Smith and the three other victims were taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead and the other injured persons are being treated and admitted in serious condition.
