Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Salt Spring Carpenter Murdered: A man was shot and killed at his home in Salt Spring District in Hanover on Sunday morning, January 14.

The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Lawrence Bowen, otherwise called Gilbert, Carpenter of Bottom Bamboo in Salt Spring.

Reports by the Green Island police are that shortly after 12:15 am on Sunday, Bowen rode home on his Honda 150 motorcycle and immediately as he rode into the yard loud explosions were heard.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, they carried out a search of the yard but nothing or no-one was seen.

Later that morning about 7:30 am, a family member stumbled upon Bowen’s body in a river bed behind his house and alerted the police.

Upon arrival, the police discovered the victim lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The scene was processed and the body later removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
