Jamaica Sports News: Andre Russell sparkled at the Queens Park Oval in Trinidad Friday night to lead the Jamaica Tallawahs to a 4 wicket win against hosts Trinbago Knight Riders.

Dre Russ, as he’s known in 20/20 franchise world, came to the crease with his side virtually out of the contest at 41-5 in the 7th over.

However he just went berserk, slapping 13 sixes and 6 fours as he raced to an unbeaten 121 off 49 balls. Along the way he scored the fastest CPL century off just 40 balls. He had silenced the partisan Queen’s Park crowd as he took Tallawahs home at 225 for 6. Russell got support from Kennar Lewis who made 51.

Earlier Trinbago batting first looked set to make it win number two from as many games as they host posted a mammoth 223 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs.

Colin Munro 61, Brendon McCullum 56 and Chris Lyn 46 did the bulk of the batting to carry Trinbago to their total.

However their charge was slightly halted thanks to a hattrick in the 20th over from that man Andre Russell. The Jamaica who was captaining Tallawahs for the first time also grabbed two spectacular catches to complete a fine all round night.
