Jamaica Crime News, St James: the St. James police have reported that an investigation is now being carried out to lay criminal charges against a man, who was among five persons taken into custody, during an operation carried out in Rosemount community in St James on Tuesday, January 15.
The name of the accused is been withheld pending the result of the investigation.
Reports by the Mount Salem police are that about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a joint military operation was carried out at a section of the Rosemount community.
During the operation, several premises were searched, including an abandoned building in a yard occupied by the accused.
The search resulted in the discovery of a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol, an AK-47 assault rifle, along with ten live assorted rounds of ammunition.
Four other men who were also taken into custody during the operation are presently being questioned.
