Robot Taxi Operator Taken into Custody, for Allegedly Stealing Girlfriend’s Gun, Granted $250,000 Bail

Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: A robot taxi operator from New Mills district, in the parish of Hanover, who was arrested and charged for allegedly stealing his girlfriend’s licensed firearm, was granted bail in the sum of $250,000, when he appeared in the Hanover Parish Court, on Tuesday, June 25.

31-year-old Mervin Jarrett, otherwise called ” Kid’s Meal” is facing charges of Larceny from a dwelling.

Reports by the police are that, between Saturday night June 15, into Sunday morning June 16, Jarrett slept at the home of his girlfriend, who resides in Hopewell, Hanover.

After spending the night with the female, who is a security guard, Jarrett was allegedly called from the house by someone unknown to the female, on Sunday and he immediately left.

According to reports, the security officer got suspicious and went to check on her firearm, when she discovered that it was missing.

She reported the matter to the police, who carried out an investigation and the accused was later arrested and charged.

Upon his appearance in court, Jarrett was granted bail with surety and is to report to the Sandy Bay Police Station three times each week.

He is to return to court in September.
