Robber Shot and Killed on Financial Institute Construction Site, in Downtown Montego Bay

Latest Jamaica News, Montego Bay (McKoy’s News): Robber Shot and Killed on Financial Institute Construction SiteA man was shot and killed by a security officer while attempting to steal construction items from a construction site being operated by a financial institute in downtown Montego Bay, on Tuesday morning, January 21.

He has been identified as Fabian “Pirate” Lawrence, a back-up man, who operated within Montego Bay.

Reports are that shortly after 4:00 a.m., Lawrence went on the compound of a construction site along Market Street and was in the process of removing construction materials, when he was accosted by a security guard.

Further reports are that the robber attacked the guard, who pulled his service revolver and opened fire hitting him to his upper body.

The armed robber ran from the scene but collapsed along a section of Orange Street, in the vicinity of the St James Municipal Corporation.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

Lawrence went to Ruseas High School and was a popular footballer who played the under 16 level, and the Dacosta Cup.

After leaving Ruseas Fabian Lawrence went on to play for Defenders FC from Greenpond, African United and Seba United.

He also played for the national under 23 a few times.
