Armed Robber Fatally Shot in Westmoreland


Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- Armed Robber Fatally Shot in Westmoreland: One of four armed robbers who carried out a robbery at a restaurant in the parish of Westmoreland on Wednesday morning, and later fired on the police, was shot and killed.

The police say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance in identifying the slain robber.

Reports by the Grange Hill police, are that shortly after 2:00 am on Wednesday morning, November 15, they responded to a report that four armed men travelling on motorcycles, carried out a robbery at a restaurant in Bellisle District, and were making a get away.

The lawmen gave chase,  and came upon four men travelling on two motorcycles. The lawmen signaled them to stop but they failed to comply.

While making an attempt to escape, one of the riders lost control of the vehicle, which crashed.

The two men who were travelling on the motorcycle got up and opened fire on the police. The fire was returned,  and both gunmen ran in different directions in nearby bushes. The lawmen carried out a search of the bushes, which led to the the discovery of the unidentified man.

He was clad in black shirt, black jeans, and a red handkerchief tied around his neck.
