Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) –  Robber Caught in Oven Ventilation System: A man who is believed to be mentally challenged and who reportedly attempted to break into the Mega Mart Store at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay on Wednesday night into Thursday morning had to be rescued by firefighters after he got caught in the main ventilation shaft leading from the main master oven.

The accused man was later handed over to the Freeport police where he was put in the lockup and is now waiting to be charged.

It is reported that shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14th, an employee at the Mega Mart Stores raised an alarm after hearing shouts coming from the ventilation shaft leading from the main oven.

The Freeport police were summoned and upon arrival, they carried out an investigation and discovered that someone was stuck in the shaft.

They then alerted the Fire Department who rushed to the Mall,  the firefighters then discovered that someone was trapped in the vent.

It took the firemen several hours to free the would-be robber after they used a tow cable to lower down in the oven shaft and hook out the robber.

The police stated that the robber attempted to gain access to the mall through the main oven and got stuck because it was too narrow.

They also pointed out that if he was not rescued he would have been roasted alive when that oven was lit on Thursday.
