Latest Jamaica News, Westmoreland (McKoy’s News): Returning Resident ExecutedAn elderly man was shot to death while returning from his farm in Bastard Cedar Walk, Westmoreland, on Sunday, August 25.

He has been identified as 63-year-old Calvin Forrest, a returning resident of England, United Kingdom and farmer of Bastard Cedar Walk in the parish.

According to reports, about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Forrest was returning from his farm which is located at his backyard. Upon reaching the front door to his home, he was pounced upon by two armed men.

During a tussle between Forrest and his attackers, his wife who was inside the house heard the commotion and opened the door to see what was taking place. At that moment, she saw the two gunmen struggling with her husband. The men tried to push the door open, however, his wife was able to forcefully close the door. Moments later loud explosions were heard.

The police were summoned and upon arriving on the scene, Forrest was found suffering from gunshot wounds to the head.

He was taken to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Mckoy’s News also understands that robbers attempted to gain entry into the house last month, but were unsuccessful.
