The Harbour View police received a firearm and several rounds of ammunition which was turned over to them on Monday following robbery foiled by civilians in the East Kingston community.

According to a police report at about 7.30 pm, a man and a woman were standing along the roadway when they were approached by two men who demanded personal items.

When the demands by the two men were refused, and one of them left and returned with a firearm, a tussle reportedly ensued between the armed man and the male complainant who subsequently disarmed the hoodlum and handed over the .38 Taurus revolver and three .38 cartridges to the police.
