Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: The Spanish Town police in St Catherine say they have now launched a manhunt for a man who was disarmed of an illegal handgun, after he attacked another resident with the weapon in the area on Monday, July 30.
Reports by the police are that about 3:50 p.m., a resident who resides at Waterloo Villa in Keystone, St Catherine, came to the station covered in blood.
The man handed over a 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with nine live 9mm rounds to the police and informed them that he took it from a man who attacked him.
The man informed the police that he was at the premises in Keystone when an argument developed between himself and the other man.
It is further reported that the man brandished a handgun which he used to inflict a wound to the head of the victim. The man grabs hold of the gunman and managed to wrestle away the weapon.
The police went back to the area and carried out a search for the accused who has still not been found.
