Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz confirmed their place in the final phase of the CONCACAF Women’s Championship with a 5-1 win over the Dominican Republic on the final matchday of the first phase at Sabina Park in Kingston on April 12.
Jamaica, who moved one step closer to qualifying for their second straight World Cup, with the big victory to capture Group C. Jody Brown (16th minute), Kathrynn Gonzalez (24th minute) scored for the Dominican Republic equalized, Trudi Carter (40th minute), Tiffany Cameron (60th minute) and Khadija Shaw (79th, 90 + 3 minutes).
Jamaica topping Group C with a perfect 12 points from their four games.
The Reggae Girlz will know their final-round opponents when the draw for that phase commences on April 19th.
Bermuda also ended Group C with a 6-0 win over Grenada at the Dame Flora Duffy National Sports Centre in Hamilton, Bermuda.
The final phase of the CONCACAF Women’s Championship takes place in Mexico from July 4-18.
