Jamaica News: Members of the local delegation to the Concacaf Women’s Championships in Texas,USA, from October 5 to 11, will leave the island on Sunday morning at 7:25,traveling via Miami.
The delegation of 12 officials and 21 players, will be housed at the Casa De Palmas hotel in Edinburg.
The Jamaicans will play their first game on Friday October 5 against Canada, after which they will go up against Costa Rica and Cuba on October 8 and 11 respectively.
Jamaica will be vying for one of the three automatic spots in the championships which would take the country to its first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup which will be held in France in 2019.
A fourth play-off spot, played home and away against a CONMEBOL team will offer another possibility of a place. This playoff will be held in the international calendar for women’s football, November 5-13.
