Montego Bay, Jamaica (McN) – Railway Lane Repaired: Montego Bay inner-cities roads gets a face lift as  sections are repaired. A section of Railway Lane, an inner – city in the downtown area of Jamaica’s Second City  was repaired on Wednesday April 12.

The road work done was carried out as part of the St. James Municipal Corporation road repair program. A visit to the area by Mckoy’s News reporter saw men carrying out the repairs to a section of the road leading to the Montego Bay Transport Centre.

While the workmen were busily carrying out the necessary work to have Railway Lane repaired, traffic was diverted to a section of Lightbody Avenue, onto Barnett Street.

Franklin Brooks who grew up in the area from in the 70’s told the reported,  “From I was born, this is the first time I am seeing this section of the road being repaired,”  he praises the new government for doing such a wonderful job.

Councillor Richard Vernon, Jnr

According to the new Councillor for the Railway Garden division Richard Vernon, Jnr “This is one of the many projects that the St. James Municipal Corporation is earmarked.”  Vernon, Jnr  is is on a role proving to his constituents that he is about their business and adding to the growth of the communities which he serves. 

Justin Richards who is just 8 years old said the fixing of the road is nice, and he can get to play on the roadway when it is not busy.
