Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Man Appeals for Prosthetic Leg: Lester Witter is appealing for help from the wider community to assist him with a prosthetic leg.
For well over five years now he has been seeking assistance, but all his requests have fallen on deaf ears. “No one ever come to my assistance, it’s be a long while now since I am appealing through the media, I have all gone to newspaper and TV stations and still no help for me“, said a teary-eyed Witter.
During the 70’s, Witter was a taxi operator plying the Flanker’s route in Montego Bay, and then later at Catherine Hall, West Green. At one point in his earlier years, he was a chef at a leading hotel in Montego Bay. Things took a turn for the worst just over 10 years ago, when he was diagnosed with Diabetes. This caused him to lose his right toe, then at a later date the entire lower section of his right foot was cut off.
In order to earn a little money he sells newspaper and phone cards along sections of St James Street in Montego Bay. He is badly in need of a foot, and said even if it is a Food for the Poor contribution he would really appreciate it. He is married and have five children, but only he and his wife are together at the moment.
Anyone who would like to assist Lester Witter can call him at 1 (876) 805-2983.
