Jamaica News: Andrew Holness says there will be changes in his cabinet as a result of the resignation of Dr Andrew Wheatley.
He steered clear of calling the plans a reshuffle and instead said it will be a realignment of ministers and their responsibilities.
Until he names the new minister, he remains in charge of the Energy portfolio and is currently reviewing all boards as well as giving policy directives to agencies under the ministry’s control.
He however gave no timeline on when his reviews will be completed and insisted he won’t be rushed.
“There will be some moving around. Just to make sure in making those changes and correcting one problem I don’t create another problem. But rest assured I am only going to move at the pace of what is right” said Mr Holness.
Opposition leader Dr Peter Phillips over the weekend reasoned that Holness’ delay in announcing a replacement for Dr Wheatley was a sign he doesn’t trust the jlp politicians to do the job.
