Portland Woman Killed in Heroes Day Accident

Latest Jamaica News, Portland (McKoy’s News) Portland Woman Killed A woman who was part of a church group going on a trip is now dead, following a motor vehicle accident which occurred along the Snow Hill Main Road in Portland on Heroes’ Day. Monday, October 21.

She has been identified as Dawna Williams-Bailey, otherwise called ‘Dawn’, of Windsor district in the Rio Grande Valley, Portland.

Reports are that about 7:00 a.m., Bailey was among passengers in a Toyota Hiace minibus travelling in a westerly direction from Port Antonio.

Further reports are that while attempting to negotiate a corner, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it hit a guardrail, then overturned. Bailey was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The driver of the bus and the other passengers were assisted to a hospital, where they were treated.

The Portland police are investigating.
