Portland Police in Search of Man Who Stab Girlfriend to Death

The Buff Bay police in Portland say they are now in search of a man who stabbed his common-law wife to death on Tuesday night, August 20 and then set her house on fire.
The dead woman has been identified as 50-year-old Maureen Johnson, of Olivere housing scheme, in Buff Bay, Portland.
Reports by the Buff Bay police are that about 10:00 p.m., Johnson and her common-law husband, got involved in a dispute at their home in Olivere scheme.
During the altercation, the accused used a knife to stab Johnson multiple times, before setting the house on fire. He then fled the scene.
Residents in the community summoned the police and the fire department, and upon their arrival, the firemen carried out cooling down operations which led to Johnson’s charred remains found under the rubbles.
The scene was processed and the body was later removed.
