Jamaica News, April 10, 2018 – Portland Businessman Murdered at His Home
Portland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The Portland police have now launch a full investigation into the shooting death of a businessman at his home in Portland on Monday night of April 9.
The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Lloyd Chambers of Windsor Castle in Portland.
Reports are that shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Monday, Chambers and his wife drove home to their house at Windsor Castle. The businessman drove into his yard and the couple alighted from the vehicle.
It is further reported that, Chambers handed his wife a bag which contained the day’s earnings from their business and she walked towards the house. Chambers then turned to lock his gate, when he was pounced upon by a group of armed men, who shot him several times to his upper body.
The elderly businessman who is a licensed firearm holder pulled his licensed firearm and challenged the gunmen. He later collapsed and was robbed of his Glock 17, 9mm semi-automatic pistol serial number ABFF631.
An alarm was raised and the wounded man was transported to the Annotto Bay hospital by the police where he was pronounced dead.
