Jamaica Crime News: A popular motor vehicle Examiner was shot and killed by a police Constable during an alleged love triangle which went sour, on Wednesday night, September 5th.
Dead is Navardo Ford, 42 years old of Chateau Road, May Pen, Clarendon.
Reports by the May Pen police are that about 11:35 pm, the Police Constable dropped home a female with whom he is said to be involved in a relationship.
After driving to the community, the female stepped out of the policeman’s car and was in the process of entering the yard, when Ford, with whom she also allegedly had a relationship, drove up.
On seeing the female alighting from another man’s car, Ford got very angry and jumped from his vehicle.
He allegedly brandished his license firearm and held on to the woman. An argument developed between the two, and Ford allegedly slapped, his alleged ex-girlfriend, and dragged her towards his car.
The police Constable upon seeing what was taking place called out to Ford who allegedly reached for his licensed firearm.
The officer who believed his life was being threatened, pulled his pistol and opened fire hitting Ford to the regions of his upper body, and grazing the female.
The Constable called in a report, and upon arrival of other police officers, Ford and the wounded female were rushed to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead, and the female treated.
A team of Investigators attached to the Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) is now carrying out investigation surrounding this latest shooting.
