Latest Jamaica News, Manchester (McKoy’s News): A popular Manchester Justice of the Peace narrowly missed being shot and killed this morning, after a group of gunmen who attempted to ambush him, shot up his motor vehicle at a stoplight intersection in the parish.
The identity of the JP is being withheld for security purposes.
Reports by the Mandeville police are that shortly after 5:45 a.m., the JP was traveling in his motor car along a section of the Struan main road, when he pulled up at the Straun Stop Light intersection.
Immediately a motor vehicle with several men traveling onboard pulled up behind him, and the men brandished guns and fired a barrage of gunfire on the JP’s vehicle.
The JP who is a licensed firearm holder managed to return the fire and sped away. The gunmen gave chase but as the JP continued to return the gunfire they sped away.
The incident was reported to the Mandeville police who are now investigating.
