St. Andrew, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Policewoman Fires Shot Killing One: A man was fatally shot by a policewoman during an attempted carjacking at the intersection of Old Hope Road and Caledonia Avenue in St Andrew last night.
According to police reports, at approximately 9:10 PM, the policewoman was driving her motorcar on Old Hope Road when on reaching the intersection with Caledonia Avenue, she was approached by two men on foot; one of whom was armed with a rifle.
The man pointed the weapon in her direction and ordered her from the vehicle.
The policewoman pulled her licensed firearm and fired in the direction of the men; one was hit and pronounced dead at hospital, while the other escaped in a waiting motorcar.
