(Mckoys News)- Police Warn Shoppers: Christmas holiday is just a few weeks away and the Police High Command is warning shoppers and other persons conducting business at financial institutions to be extremely aware of their surroundings. Persons conducting transactions with large sums of cash are being advised to observe prudent security precautions.
This warning comes on the heels of an incident which took place on Tuesday afternoon in which a man was robbed after leaving a bank.
It is reported that shortly after three 3 o’clock, the 25-yr-old man, who is a haulage contractor, was on his way from a bank when he was held-up by a gunman along Old Hope Road in St. Andrew.
He was robbed of a bag with $300,000 cash, a laptop computer valued at $120,000, and various documents. The gunman escaped on a motorcycle.
The High Command recently announced that more police will be deployed on the streets for Christmas.
