Kingston, Jamaica (McN) – ALKALINE is spending the weekend behind bars at the Hunts Bay Police Station’s lock-up.
Mckoy’s News has learnt that no charges have been filed against the dancehall deejay, however he remains in police custody.
Lawyer for Alkaline stated that if he is not released by Monday, he will bring the matter before the court to secure his release unless the police has lawful grounds keep him detained.
Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, director of the JCF Corporate Communications Unit, has confirmed that the police have concluded their investigations but said she could not confirm when the Earlan Bartley, “Alkaline” would be released.
Bartley has been in police custody since Thursday morning, when he reported to the Area Four Police Headquarters at Harman Barracks in Vineyard Town, accompanied by his attorney, and underwent a first set of questioning.
Alkaline who the police say is wanted for questioning in relation to the January 13 murder of Rohan Morris in Maverley, was transported to the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) office at the National Commercial Bank Towers in New Kingston for a second session of interviews on Thursday.
He was later taken to the Hunts Bay police station lock-up and is still there, on Sunday.
