Police officers attached to the Public Safety and Traffic Management Branch in Kingston, swooped down on a large gathering which had congregated at a popular Funeral Home in downtown Kingston, on Wednesday evening, March 3.

No one was arrested as the patrons complied, but the police reported that the gathering which was at the Tranquility Funeral Home, was in excess of over 200 persons in attendance.

Following an investigation, the lawmen say they were told that the event was a repast being held for a popular personality.

This latest incident comes just days after Prime Minister Andrew Holness, announced the new Covid-19 protocols, which announces a ban on funerals and burials from March 8, to March 22.
