A source at the Portland police Division has now confirmed that attempts are now being made to locate a suspect who they believe can assist them in their investigations into the death of People’s National Party, Member of Parliament for Eastern Portland, Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield.
The police source also confirmed that Dr. Bloomfield death could have been carried out by more than one individual, but for now their investigations are pointing them in the directions of this individual, who they say might also have had the freedom to move around freely within the premises as there were no signs of forced entry at the two-story house.
The 59-year-old, doctor who resides at Paisley Gardens in Portland, was discovered dead at his home, by his helper on Saturday morning, February 2nd.
It is reported that shortly after 8:00 a.m., the gardener came to the house and mowed the lawn as he normally does.
The gardener noticed that the grill, and the front door to the house, were open but that did not arise his suspicion and he continued to carry out his chores.
About 10:00 a.m., the helper arrived at work, and after having a chat with the gardener, she went inside the house and stumbled upon Dr. Bloomfield’s body, which was lying naked in his bedroom, in a pool of blood.
It is also stated that the water in his shower was still running, and there was a trail of blood leading from the bathroom to the bedroom.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, it was discovered that Dr. Bloomfield had multiple stab wounds all over his body.
The scene was processed, and the lawmen discovered a black jacked along a footpath leading to the house. Dr. Bloomfield body was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Dr. Lynvale Bloomfield was born in the parish of Trelawny, and attended Cornwall College institution in Montego Bay, in the 70es.
He also attended the University of the West Indies where he studied medicine and graduated as a medical doctor.
In the year 2011, he ran on the People’s National Party ticket in Eastern Portland Constituency, where he won the seat and has been the sitting Member of Parliament up to the time of his demise on Saturday.
