Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The joint military forces are reporting success during the first 12 hours of the State of Public Emergency, which was declared on sections of Kingston and St. Andrew on Sunday morning,  September 23.

One police source told our news team that the police have so far seized three illegal firearms,  along with several rounds of ammunition, while taking a number of men into custody.

The law officer stated that, special attention is now being placed on West Kingston and it’s surroundings,  which includes Lizard Town, where one of the illegal weapons were seized.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness on Sunday morning, declared the third State of Public Emergency on the island,  in the Kingston and St Andrew areas, which he says is being plagued with murders and criminal activities.

This is the third such State of Public Emergency, which has been imposed across the Island since the start of the year and Prime Minister Holness report that,  the decision was made due to the large upsurge of crime which has been taking place in these police divisions.

This latest State of Public Emergency will blanket across sections of St. Andrew South,  Kingston Central and Kingston Western.

Areas such as Oakland Road, Waltham Park road, Manford Avenue, Studio One Boulevard, Tivoli Gardens, Denham Town and sections of Spanish Town Road will be affected.

The first State of Public Emergency was called in St. James in February of 2018, then the second imposed in March, across the St. Catherine North division.
