Jamaica News, St Catherine: The St Catherine police say, despite the fact that they are still carrying out investigation surrounding the death 30-year-old Kemar Abrahams, they now have strong leads which confirm that the deceased may have in fact committed suicide by shooting himself while at his home on Saturday morning, May 19.
One police source confirms that investigators are still tying up some loose ends, but as the investigation stands at this time, evidence shows that Abraham really took his own life.
Reports are that shortly after 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Abrahams who is an Insurance Claims Consultant by profession, was at home with other family members in Wakefield when a loud explosion was heard.
Family members went to investigate and discovered him lying in a pool of blood at a section of the house. He also had what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to his head.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed and the body later removed to the hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.
The police have still not confirmed who owned the licensed Glock pistol which was discovered close to Abraham’s body.
Kemar Abrahams was the son of the Jamaica Labour Party Councillor for the Bog Walk Division, Peter Abrahams.
Recently Abrahams senior was taken into custody after a firearm which is reported to be owned by him was discovered in a motor car in which four men were taken into custody by the police.
